I've been contacted by a company called Right Choice Transfer offering to take over my deed from my time share. Unfortunately they wanted money before the transaction. Due to my stupidity and grief over the loss of my fiancé I fell for it. Now I'm desperately afraid that its all a fraud and scam and I'm out 2000.00. I'm waiting to hear back from them. Of course they said they belonged to the BBB and they don't. Has anyone had a dealings with them? I'm so upset with myself. Not sure how to proceed. Thank you for your time.

When did you pay them?

Did you use a credit card?

Never heard of them and their website doesn't say what they do with your timeshare. It is probably one of the companies that will sell it for $1.00 on Ebay. You could have done that yourself without paying $2000.00.

They took my debit card July 19 Friday night.

You should call your credit card company immediately and dispute the charge.

Right Choice Transfer - are they a fraud company?

I was making calls to look for closing companies or donation companies and donate timeshares set me up on a conference call this evening. It was so . . . Trashing timeshares and how you need to get out now! Of course they said their standard fee to get out of mine ( the price varies with the amount of maintenance fees paid) was $5,773. When I heard this I hung up from the call. He called me back after and said that that wasn't the price I would pay. It came down to $4049 but includes something about joining some club called destination vacation 365 where you arrange for vacations through them using unused inventory from resorts. Said you have access to over 6,000 resorts. He sent me a link to go watch a video www.rightchoicetransfer.com/dv365 that is suppose to explain it. Haven't done it yet as I was trying to check them out on tugg first. Anybody heard of this or the destination vacation 365 club he is talking about. Just curious.

Please consider giving your timeshare away to a private individual who would like to own it, before you spend a cent with a company like this.

Why?
-You can give it away yourself for nearly no cost.
-You can control the transfer process to make sure it is truly transferred out of your name.
-You won't have to deal with companies that may or may not be Legit.
-You can transfer it to a private individual who will be happy to have it for their own use.
-You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you ended your ownership legally and ethically.

There are TWO places on TUG where you can give away your TS's for free (no charge for the Ads.) THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - SO YOU SHOULD POST IN BOTH AREAS. There are other cheap and free sites on the internet, as well.

TUG Marketplace - the only cost is your TUG membership - $15 (List it for $1 and it will automatically go in the Bargain Basement Ads.)

Bargain Deals - Totally FREE! - just write a simple post with all the pertinent info. In your post, include the following info.:
-resort name
-unit size
-season owned
-maintenance fee
-current reservations

To make it more attractive I would:

1) Pay the 2013/2014 maintenance fees and don't ask for reimbursement.

2) Pay for the title transfer (you can get a simple title transfer with no escrow or title search for about $100.) Many Tuggers (including me) have been using Legal Timeshare Transfers, a no frills document preparation company, and they are receiving good reviews on TUG.:

3) Reserve a popular holiday week in 2013/14 for the new owner

4) Instead of paying a fee to a rescue company - consider offering a cash incentive to the new owner.

5) Here is the very important step that most people miss: Come back to TUG once a week and add more info. to your thread - this will bump it to the top of the page.

Good luck!
