Hi All:

The wife and I planning a trip to Orlando. I'm having a hard time deciding between Vistana Resort vs. the Villas. Are there any major differences between the two. We are mid 30s, no kids. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

i prefer SVR since it is closer to disney (by a little) and has been completely renovated a few years ago.

from what i've heard, i would not mind trying SVV at all for a trip focused more on sea world/universal.

i don't think there is a bad choice.

edited to add: here are some pics from my stay in the lakes section at SVR in may 2013:

We've stayed at both and now own at SVR. There is not a lot of difference in the two resorts quality wise. Fit, finish and luxury are pretty much equal. SVR is (as mentioned) closer to Disney by maybe 3-5 minutes. SVR is probably twice the size and has more amenities as a result (more pools, restaurants, bars, etc), but SVV is no slouch either. The one thing we prefer is that SVR has several older sections with lower rise (2-3 story) buildings. The buildings are well spread out, and you are usually parking at your door. Our family likes this lower density arrangement over the newer sections with 4-5 story buildings, elevators, and tighter parking. I know we go against the grain on this though, as I often see complaints about walking up a flight or two of stairs, or walking a block or two to the pools. As mentioned above though, these old buildings are "recently" renovated (2-3 years now), so you wouldn't really know the shell was built in the 70's or 80's.
