Advice on Orange Lake Country Club

I am looking for advice on whether to buy at Orange Lake, Orlando. They have offered 97,000 points for $10,000 with maintenance fees of $707, every other year. We already have a unit at Wyndham Bentley Brook which is impossible to trade with, and Holiday Inn Club Vacation is offering the possibility of converting this fixed week to additional points.

The first question is whether its a good deal. Another is whether I would be better off trying to convert points to Wyndham resorts, but I'm having trouble finding who to talk to about that.

Also, if anyone is an owner, are there units available during the summer months. I work in a school and I'm tied to their schedule. I am not sure because it has always been a hassle to trade the Wyndham resort on RCI.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
You can save yourself thousands of dollars by buying resale. Take a look at these sales on eBay.

You might be interested in reading this post from someone who recently purchased resale and owns at that resort.

If you are looking at flexibility, unless you buy Holiday Inn Vacation Club points through the developer, there is no flexibility at Orange Lake, Orlando, because if you buy resale, they revert to assigned weeks.

If you are looking for Holiday Inn Vacation Club points, buy resale. I have seen them transfer at South Beach, Lake Geneva and Gatlinburg properties.

If you are looking at Summer in Orlando...that is easy to get a trade at.

There are other properties in Orlando with a lot more flexibility than Orange Lake.

You can pick up Wyndham Points on the Bargain Deals...for less than the conversion cost.

Resale

If I buy a resale, will they be eligible for points, or just a fixed or floating week, like I have? How do you know?
