At our TS in Hawaai recently we used a microwave/convection oven which was great for pizza and steaks. At Costco (Canada) there is a Delonghi convection oven. 120 volts AC. 0.5 cu ft. $99 saving $60. It is without microwave but about the same size as one. Is this better than using micro wave? Can you cook with this well? It is a limited time saving offer good for another 2 days so your prompt opinions and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you:wave:

Convection ovens have a fan that blows the heat around the oven. I believe this results in a more even temp throughout the oven (typically it would be hotter as you get closer to the heat source). This can speed up the cooking time, and also would allow you to use two racks at the same time and still effectively cook whatever is on each rack. It is not at all a microwave, but you will be able to cook with it.

Ted, it's COSTCO. Buy the oven, try it out, and if it doesn't suit your needs, return it. They won't mind.

I have a convection toaster oven. It's not the same model, but they are great.

You use it in conjunction with a microwave oven, not instead of one. The microwave is great for some things, the small oven better for other things.

I also have a convection oven, different brand & I love it. No need to turn the main oven on for smaller items. Great in the summer, handy at Thanksgiving, when the main oven is full!
