You want to rescind via registered mail, return receipt requested, referencing your purchase and the date. There is paperwork in that huge pile of stuff Wyndham gave you, which will outline the process for rescinding. Do it right away and don't delay, and you do need that return receipt, so you know someone signed for it.

Let me just confirm everything above: rescind now.....and decide what is right for you after you complete the process.

Here is a simple list of questions that will help others advise you as to whether Timesharing is right for you--http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208742 Just follow the instructions and you'll get more advice than you can possibly digest.

But, first things first: complete your rescission letter and then take your time choosing what does or doesn't fit your vacation goals and needs.

Welcome, and congrats on finding TUG!

Type the letter on the computer.

Return the books by the cheapest mailing method possible. You don'tneed to include them with the cancellation letter.

If you followed the exact instructions in your contract, and have the postal receipt that you sent the rescission letter, you're all set. The person you talked to probably is not the person who knows about each letter that department gets.

You'll know for sure that they got the letter when some salesweasel calls you to try to change your mind. Avoid the temptation to answer the call from area code 702.

They are obligated by law to process the rescission. They are NOT obligated to tell you they are doing it or that it's done. You MAY not know until you see a credit in your card account, and that might take up to 45 days.

The law is on your side, and you have the receipt in case a charge is made against you. Wyndham is pretty honest compared to some other timeshare outfits, so don't worry, and be patient.

As advised in the TUG advice article in post #2, you absolutely should not be calling them or communicating with them.

You already know that they received it, because you have the confirmation from the post office.

Remember - calling has no legal standing, so it doesn't matter what they tell you over the phone. Chances are, you are not even talking to the right person. If you talk to the sales person - they will just try to mislead you or talk you out of it.

All you should do now is wait patiently for your refund - approximately 45 days.

It doesn't hurt, I would also fax the proof of delivery.

If you have proof that someone signed for it, that is proof enough. Keep that little piece of paper with the signature for your records, so this doesn't come back and bite you later on.

Wyndham is actually very good at handling rescisions. When we did it we sent a certified letter and also a fax

when I got the card back from the post office I called. Like you I was told that they hadnt gotten the letter in their office yet.. It took at least a day to get from the mail room to the right office and opened and entered into their computer tracking system, But they did get the fax and had already started working on it>>

Dont worry, send the fax and call if it will make you more comfortable. You will be talking to the department that handles these things. Its their job to process recessions, They wont try to talk you out of it, and they wont try to sell you anything else (just dont call the salesman) It is my belief that this department saves wyndham thousands of dollars in legal fees. Its a whole lot easier to rescind a sale, than to defend a salesman that lied to get your name on a contract (and they all lie, they wouldnt sell anything if they didnt)
