Has anyone heard of Premium Marketing International(based in Florida)? They claim that they resell time shares and vacation clubs and use the same tactics as the original sellers. I know not to pay any up front fees. They are asking me for $2,500 up front. I told them that I would not pay it up front. If anyone has heard of them or dealt with them, please let me know.

Pure Baloney - any kind of upfront fee is a huge red flag. Just ignore them.

Tell them that it is great that they contacted you. You just received notice that your long lost Uncle 27 times removed died in Nigeria and you have inherited 7 Million dollars and only have to pay $10,000 transfer tax to get the money. If they front you the $10k, you will give them the $2500 as soon as your inheritance arrives.

Back to the OP. I did a little research on this company and they are fairly new. They openly admit to charging an upfront fee and then doing almost nothing. For the fee they put your timeshare advertisement on their website at an astronomical price. There it will sit, forever. They don't claim to do anything more than post the ad. They do not claim to sell timeshares or even manage the listing. They definitely do not "They claim that they resell time shares and vacation clubs and use the same tactics as the original sellers". The FAQ on their website is very specific that they are not a broker, a reseller, or even a lister.

Premium Marketing International (PMI) is not a Broker and does not take listings - only advertisements.

Premium Marketing International (PMI) is not a telemarketing company and does not make unsolicited phone calls. Premium Marketing International (PMI) and it's employees work strictly within the limits of all Florida laws.

They claim to be within Florida law but what they may or may not realize is that what they are doing is actually illegal in the state of Florida. They won't last long. What they do goes beyond the statutes covering real estate services because they are taking a $2,500 fee and then not doing anything. It's far worse than what they claim they are not doing.

Saintsfan has some good info.

It is all about the upfront fee. Instead of just picking your pocket they come up with a scam that includes a very poorly designed website for you to post your timeshare for sale. In order to charge astronomical upfront fees they convince you to post your timeshare for much more than it is worth. That way, their high fee doesn't sound so bad to you. There your timeshare will sit (cricket noise). It would sit forever if not for the fact that this "company" will likely fold within a year or so because word will get around that they are simply taking people's money. They could care less if any timeshare sells from their website.

These companies are so desperate for the upfront free that they will lie to their victims. The most common lie is that they already have a buyer waiting so the victim pays thinking they have a big check coming. In the end all they "bought" was the ad.

This company has a little different lie in that they claim to sell timeshares "with the same tactics" just like a developer. I am sure they are hoping that the victim will think that the company will sell the timeshare for big bucks just like the developer. Again, all you get is the ad.

If they have to lie about what they are truly selling it isn't worth the price they are asking. (I guess that Westgate falls into that category as well).

Yes I did and they are a Scam. just like other companies.

Its simple what they do, they open a company run it for 6 months up to maybe 2 years depending on their customer service and then they close down. Again open a new company and do it all over again. They never sell or rent any timeshares. Someone should report them to the Florida State Attorney.

I got a call from them this week. I have been trying to get rid of my timeshare for years with no luck. They called and promised I would get serious offers within 30-90 days, that my property would go on the "sales floor" for presentations today (friday- only 2 days after the call), I got sucked in despite their inability to satisfactorily answer questions. They refused to provide a sales report- after claiming they are averaging sales 60-90 days after listing. Who would NOT want to prove their success? He said NOBODY does that... really. REALTORS do that all the time. There is not a single testimonial I could find of a successful report of a timeshare sold by them. They put me on the phone with their verification specialist, which is a mental trick- write down this confirmation # etc, but you are not allowed to ask this person any questions! Or they send you back to the first person. But I did anyway and he completely contradicted what the first person said- about where the sales presentation was going to happen- I had first been told it was going to be at the property where I bought my timeshare. But the second guy said oh no, it will be in Orange County at a tradeshow. ??? But I am seriously needing that money I could have gotten by selling it and I stupidly (despite these flashing red signs) gave them my financial information and signed the contract. Two minutes later I finished reading the contract which completely contradicted everything I was told on the phone. I was told there would be no other costs, this $2495 included everything, and the buyer would pay closing costs, but the contract said you should hire a lawyer because there may be additional costs for title transfer etc. Well, I immediately called my bank and they said to come in. They shut down my checking account for me and opened a new one. Put a freeze on the old one and flagged it for this company. Train wreck averted. It appears all they may do is put you on a website. Even though he flatly denied it, they do have listings on their website. They are not a member of BBB. Their website looks flimsy. There are no names, and the contract did not have a return address connected to the company- only docusign. If there is a viable way to get rid of a time share without spending money, I would like to know. But these people are creepy.

You can give it away here. Even if you have to sweeten the deal by paying transfer costs, it will be WAY cheaper than paying even legit companies to give it away for you.
