Hello everyone, a few months ago Matt and I paid for a timeshare through a developer at Tahiti Village. We paid for the RCI membership through them. Within the last month I bought an additional timeshare for Grandview Las Vegas. from Sumday. Today, I received a letter from RCI stating that I had to pay another membership fee even though I already had a membership number from Tahiti Village. They said the other membership from TV was a club membership. What is going on? Is this valid? Will my points combine into one pool? The letter states that I must pay an additional $200 to complete the transfer for the Grandview. I am confused..... And slightly not pleased....

The exact wording from the letter states: " We understand that you have an existing membership with RCI but that account is a "Club" account and no other activity can be added. Therefore, anew RCI points membership is required to include your new purchase atGrandview Las Vegas."

Do I REALLY need to have 2 accounts? Really?

Is the Tahiti Village RCI account points or weeks? Is your Grandview ownership in weeks or points?

Both timeshares are in points. The TV is 42,500 every other year and the Grandview is 98,000 every year.

Do you pay RCI directly for your Tahiti Village RCI points membership or is it paid by the resort out of some type of annual club membership fee?

Sorry for the delay in responding. Work life called and then holiday season. My brain was on overload and thinking about this was more than I could do at the time. I have figured out that the TV is a club membership. They pay RCI. Grandview has no club membership, only RCI. Is there a way to combine the 2 into one pool of points?

There are two ways someone can be a member of RCI.
-You buy a TS that has an affiliation with RCI and you buy our own membership direct from RCI.
or
- Your TS system can buy a corporate membership and then the TS can give all their owners access to RCI via the corporate membership.

It sounds like TV has given you access to their corporate RCI membership and Grandview only has private RCI ownerships. Sorry that means you need a second private RCI membership. The only good news is that if you buy another week at a TS that uses RCI ( they could use the other exchange company Interval (II) ) you can just add them to your private RCI membership.
