Just wondering if there is a timeshare presentation attached to the $12 Thomas More tour to the Royal Haciendas or are you free to just check it out yourself? Is there any benefit to take the actual "free" timeshare tour? We would like to spend a day there with the least amount of hassle. Thanks.

No the Thomas More trip is just for your personal visit. You can take a free trip with a sales rep and get a tour if you want one.

I can't speak for all their sales people, but if you go for free with one of them, it's not a "hard sell" trip, but nonetheless it is a sales pitch. If you're interested in buying, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions. Personally I like our sales guy and don't mind hearing his sales pitch.

For the $12, no presentation, trip one can wander on their own. There is a model unit open, but I think they are reluctant to have people tour those without a sales person or unless they are already owners. That said, in Feb the model unit being used was clearly posted at the sales desk. We waited for someone to escort us (we're already owners), but once there the door was open, seems one could have easily checked it out on their own.

Glad you asked

Just arrived back last night from Cancun. I took the tour option to visit the Royal Hacienda. The shuttle ride was free if you took the tour. The tour also included a wonderful breakfast (yes, I did leave a nice tip for the waiter)
I spent only 45 to 60 minutes on tour. It is a fabulous resort. No pressure sales tactics what so ever. We decided to stay the entire day and only had to pay for the shuttle to return at $6.00 each. The free trip back returned at 2:00 pm so we decided to stay until 5:00pm and paid the one way charge. Great resort with a outstanding pool and beach area to enjoy.
