I haven't made reservations in about a year now, but wondering how this works now. I just went in to check availability for March 20, 2015 check in with plans to call at 9 am to book, and it's gone.

How do I go about booking March 21, or March 22nd which both show availability, as did March 20th last night. It appears that the ressies are being booked online before SVN is opening at 9 am.

Any advice on how to book?

Sign into MSC, click on Villa Resort Availability Finder, then fill in the information. It will list what villas are available. You select one, and click "Reserve Now" or something like that.

On MyStarCentral, you can book a reservation online just as midnight EST passes the day that the reservation window opens. So yes, people are reserving before the 9am hour that the phone lines open. You need to reserve online for the most desirable weeks.

A little more clarification - you can make a reservation at midnight Eastern, the night before the 8 mo. mark.

So tonight (March 20) at midnight Eastern, you can reserve March 21st, 2015. Of course, since it's midnight Eastern, that means it's 9:00 pm in California, so the actual time depends on your time zone. Sometimes it takes several minutes for the inventory to become active, so you may have to try for a few minutes.

No. The new day begins at midnight. So at midnight (about 2 1/2 hours from now), it will be midnight 00:00 EDT July 21, 2014 here in the Eastern timezone. At that time, you can reserve March 21st, 2015. If you're calling from Pacific time, that will be 21:00 or 9pm PDT July 20th.

It's mostly just semantics, but I think we are saying the same thing.

Let me rephrase it: Phone reservations opens at 9 a.m. Eastern - 8 mos. before check-in.

The night before, you can make your reservation at midnight, Eastern.

How difficult can it be for us to agree when the day starts, eastern time? Modern civilization starts the day at midnight...I think each of us can figure out local time zone based on that...or am I assuming too much? ;)

I'm trying to make an SO reservation for a check-in date of Mar. 22. I should be able to do this now (it's 9:33 pm PST on July 21), right? However, the results are still showing up "Home Resort Usage." Am I mistaken about the timing?

Sometimes it takes awhile for the inventory to load after midnight - so you must still be seeing home resort inventory.

Thanks, Denise. It's taking a long time tonight! It's now just after midnight PST, and it's still showing as Home Resort Usage. I'll try again later.

I just tried again, and it's still showing as Home Resort Usage. I do own at this resort, but want to use SOs to book this particular reservation as I have my owned weeks at this resort have already been reserved. I switched to a different resort where I don't own, and sure enough it will let me book with SOs. So, I can book where I don't own with SOs, but not where I do. Perhaps this has come up before here, but I missed the discussion. Regardless, this is a bummer!

Tried again at 6 am PST; It still would only showed Home Resort Usage and only 1 bedroom are now units were showing for the Mar. 22 check-in. I also tried to call in just in case they had different inventory, but their system is down. At least I was able to rebook my original reservation with SOs.

I guess it was my turned to be jinxed!
