My nephew is having a destination wedding at the Bavaro Princess in March, 2014. I am not a fan of AI resorts, nor of the DR, but don't have much choice on this occasion. There are no TUG reviews. Has anyone stayed at this resort recently and could provide some feedback? Although the resort is listed in the RCI directory, there is no availability for any month. Is this resort available from one of the other exchange companies? The AI package with air from my city is $1800 per person. I was hoping I could do better.

Bavaro seems to be only available to Royal Holiday Club members now or through travel websites like vacations to go and apple.

I saw two in RCI two years ago but none since. We stayed there in January, 2011 and I'd go back. The staff was great and the scenery and beach were beautiful. Nice, soft, white sand. The food wasn't as good as on a cruise ship. We've only stayed at two AI's and the food was average at both. If I remember correctly, tours were extra.
