I have seen several ads on ebay for VV resales that claim to float 1-52. From looking at the StarOptions chart this doesn't seem possible. Are there any such ownerships or are the sellers confused?

Thanks. That's what I thought too. Any idea how to find out what they are actually selling before I place a bid? I guess I could ask what section of VV the unit is, but do you have any other suggestions. The deals on ebay are so much better than what you can find elsewhere, but I'm kind of nervous since most of the sellers make you use their closing company.

I always ask for the week # and unit #. Most of the time the information is in the ads, tucked away.

Okay, once I have that information, where can I go to figure out what section the unit is in?

Thanks

Take a look at the SVN StarOption chart about the weeks/seasons and associated SOs. For VV - make sure you are buying the right resort, unit type, and season - and it comes with the appropriate number of SOs.

It is necessary to find out what the deed week and deeded unit is - but remember that if this is floating - you do not get that specific unit or week. Read up on how SVO and SVN works.

In buying from eBay - send the seller the questions you want answered - be aware that often times the seller doesn't know, but you can learn a lot by asking (and challenging if necessary) the right questions. this can be to an advantage to a buyer since if they misrepresent the resort/unit - this may keep buyers away. (this happened for me to my advantage...)

If you bid and win - and the seller misrepresents what is being sold - then you are under no obligation to go thru with the sale. In fact, you are under no obligation at all since winning a bid on eBay is not a contract.

Do not send any minoey to the seller - send only to the closing company - and do not send any money until everything is spelled out in a Purchase Contract - no matter what the ad says or the seller tells you. Insist that everything is covered in writing - this protect BOTH parties.
