Westin Voluntary Resort Resale Rentals

Considering WRMV.

I've checked the FAQ and searched / read through a few posts. I understand that resales don't have staroptions and that rentals on home resort units are ok (as opposed to staroption exchange units or RCI/II). Not familiar with the Starwood program, apologize for any stupid questions.

Once I reserve a floating week on a resale (8 - 12 months out based on what I've read), does the Starwood (Vistana) owner web portal have a rental option (with Starwood handling all elements and taking a cut) or do I have to manually find a renter (here, Redweek, etc.)?

You will have to find your own renter. Also most desirable weeks would have to be reserved at exactly 12 months. If you bought resale at a voluntary week you can technically reserve your home week 0-12 months out but as I said the good weeks aren't going to stick around much.

I've been tracking this resort for a while (prime season). It seems there is not enough listings, is that because there is no renting demand? :ponder:

I would think it is a prime resort since it has the lift just outside the resort.

Probably because owners actually use their weeks than renting it out. You don't see too many resales am for ski weeks here either. I would love to pick one up at a decent price.

sheraton mountain vista is a great resort also and you see resales occasionally. I stay there 6 weeks during ski season and only 2 minute walk from westin
