RCI doesn't give credit for $59 guest fee with Vacation Protection? Why not?

I'm annoyed. I shouldn't have added my brother's name to the reservation, and he needed to cancel for health reasons, and RCI will not apply the guest fee for another guest on a new reservation.

When I cancelled the week a few months ago, it said something about calling a guide to use the guest certificate. Wyndham's RCI desk said it's not true.

Yup, unless things have changed you should be able to cancel the guest certificate fee online for a refund. Perhaps a case of uninformed VC?

It was a Wyndham guide. They have an entirely separate group of people who work the Wyndham desk now, and I guess it was farmed out to an independent company. I remember a guide telling me that a while back, that our service would become dismal, and I think this guide is a good example of it.

I want to get the $59 back. He wouldn't apply it to another reservation. I am just annoyed.
