This is first time I'm going to use the 60 day window to get the
50% discount. Have booked a two bedroom weeks ago at smoky mountain resort. There were 3 available units available and 4 at the lodge. I check this morning and all were there.
Now on 4 hours all are gone. Is this normal
Or is Wyndham playing games

That would be a pretty prime time there for fall colors, so I would guess if you're now within 60 days there were probably a few other owners with the same idea, coupled with the fact that Wyndham can take all but the last 10% of units for Extra Holidays inside 60 days.

In looking at the calendar, I'm thinking you're looking at a check in Halloween weekend? I would then think maybe those first days were captured in a re-book of something checking in the Saturday or Sunday before.

Online booking opens a 7 pm Eastern.

If you want a 60 day 50% off booking you need to grab them as early as possible, to ensure they are there. You can always cancel later, so grab while the inventory is available.

I do find that there are some bookings that are getting cancelled up to the 15 day mark, so you can also try the last 2 weeks before check in for some opportunities.

It is getting harder as there are more and more VIP Platinum / Presidential Reserve types who have access to those dates.

Sandy,
It is also getting near the end of the Jan-Dec USE year. By Wyndham favoring this USE YEAR ... those unbooked units from the 1st quarter of the year were NOT picked over by the Apr-Mar Use year people, etc, etc.

And between heavy ARP booking for both the Thanksgiving Holiday and the end of year holiday weeks ... there will be LOTS of unused points dumped into RCI.

I would suggest if you are going to deposit Wyndham points into RCI, do it earlier verses December. That interface might be hincky during Dec.

Yea I think the idea of use them or loose them is the culprit. It's Wyndham who chooses the weeks to deposit when someone deposits points into RCI?
