Maui Ocean Club 3 Bdrms…Can You Lockoff?

Aloha All,

I searched for this answer, but couldn't find it in the forums, so forgive me if this is a repeat. When we purchased our 2 bdrm in Napili towers 6 years ago, as I recall the 3 bdrm villas can NOT be locked off. Anyone out there have a definitive answer? Can the 3 bedroom villas at Maui Ocean Club be locked off? (to either rent out or to do consecutive weeks??)

Yes, they do lock-off into a 2BR and a Studio.

Hi Southerngirl,

While the unit does lock-off, they are all fixed weeks, and you would not be able to reserve a Studio for one week and the 2BR the following week. They must be the same week.

You would have to deposit your Studio into II and then re-trade back into MMO or MM1 into another Studio for the adjacent week.

Greg, thanks so much! If I had thought for a moment about the 3 bdrms being fixed week, I would have realized that. Hmm. So if we didn't need the entire space, we could always rent out one side for the same fixed week then.

Love the idea of a fixed week if it's our chosen VERY popular season, as I wouldn't have that annual nerve-wracking attempt to call in at the precise second to snag our rez, but it does have a couple of cons as well I suppose….

Thanks again. Since we have float weeks, I sometimes forget the options available are different for a fixed week. Makes sense!
