So, I have 4120 points left for this year and was going to convert it over to HHonors, but the system won't let me without calling the 800 #. Is there a minimum number of points that are required to transfer into HHonors? If so, I think I will put them into RCI, since they can go farther and last longer than if I rescue them.

TIA :)

If these are your 2009 points, I THINK that the problem is that you can't convert these points in HH points. You can convert next year's points in HH.
However, you CAN make a hotel reservation using 2009 club points. When you cancel that reservation, the points will come back to you as HH points.

However, as a PE, I can convert 2009 points to HH so please check the above information before making a reservation.

As to the original question:
AFAIK there is no minimum, but converting less than 1000 HGVC pts (rendering 25,000 HH pts) is not cost effective, since the fee would exceed the value, unless you are doing so to reach a certain award level.

But as "sml2181" said, if these are 2009 points, your options are:
A. Make a hotel reservation with an effective "current year" ratio of 20:1;
B. "Rescue" your points for your HGVC 2010 account (restricted to HGVC booking); or
C. Do an "RCI Depost" for use for RCI in any of the next two years.

Thanks to the both of you. :)

Yes, they are 2009 points, and I had forgotten I can't convert them. (One downside of not keeping the Owners Manual around, I don't remember/know all the rules).

But I probably don't want to rescue them so as I said I will go the RCI route.

Thanks again.:wave:
