My wife and I are heading to Hiltonhead in a week or two. Looking for suggestions of things to do, places to eat, etc. Beach time is already in the plans. We also plan on heading down to Savannah for a day.

We fell in love with Hilton our second time around. We were there last year May 2015 for 5 nights.

We ordered seafood at each restaurant.

Sea Shack - Small place and yes, it's a shack. Get ready to wait in line. Plastic utensils, plates and only soft drinks served. Hubby and I ordered the Shack Attack - scallops, shrimp, oysters, crab cake and tilapia. Choice of grilled, fried or blackened. Salad, beans, cheese grits, cornbread and hush puppies.

Skull Creek Boathouse

Salty Dog in Sea Pines - (you will pay $6 to enter Sea Pines - unless they raised the price).

Old Oyster Factory

Our last night - we finished off our few items we had picked up at Kroger's. (we made salad w/shredded turkey and cheese, bread, fruit and wine - get the picture :) ).

It's a good place to start.

Personally, I like Red Fin. You can buy a bottle of wine in their store at retail and have it with your dinner.

Don't forget to sample some Low Country cuisine.

Savor the Lowcountry food tour

Savor the Lowcountry food tour is a great way to sample some of the food near the Coligny Circle area. My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. A little bit of history and snacks to eat and drink. If you do decide to do it, go hungry and make sure that you take the tour early during your stay so that you can go back to some of your favorites later in the week.

We had a great meal at the Studio (used a restaurant.com coupon). It is near the Sea Shack (basic but good). I can also highly recommend Trattoria Divina. We just stumbled upon this restaurant one night and it was wonderful. The lobster ravioli was the best that I have ever had. We meet the friendly owner and he also recommended the Lobster Pot Pie.

The Jazz Corner was very good, but it was to dark inside while eating. Advance reservations that are weeks ahead are a must here.

So many good places to eat on HHI!

The only thing I might add is that the jazz corner packs you in like sardines. I felt close to phobic. Will never go back. We felt it was a fire trap.
