I have a Chase Sapphire that earns 2x the points for travel (which includes maintenance fees) and when redeemed for travel requires 20% less points.

I was surfing through the net and found that Citi Premier Thank You Card earns 3X the points for travel (including maintenance fees and gas). A higher level version is the Citi Prestige (annual fee of $450).

Anyone here use Citi Premier or Prestige? How does it compare to Chase Sapphire?

I carry Chase Sapphire and my husband carries the Citi Premier card. However, since Citi no longer offers 3x points on dining so we will cancel it when the next annual fee is due, as that is the single biggest "normal" category of spending for us (after college and house renovations).

"As for the reward category changes, the card now earns 3x ThankYou points on travel, including gas. In addition to airfare, hotel and travel agency purchases–which were previously included–the new 3x points travel category has also been expanded to include car rental agencies, gas stations, commuter transportation, taxi/limousine service, passenger railways, cruise lines, bridges and tolls, parking lots/garages, campgrounds and trailer parks, timeshares, bus lines, motor home and recreational vehicle rental, and boat leases and boat rentals.

On the downside, restaurant and entertainment expenses, which previously earned 3 ThankYou points per dollar spent, now earn 2 ThankYou points per dollar. All other purchases continue to earn 1 point per dollar."
