We have a trade into this resort this September. I called today and inquired if it was possible to upgrade from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. I was told that it is first come/first serve and you have to call on the Wednesday before the visit. What are my chances of getting this? Is there a specific unit or building I should ask for? Any other advice to first-time visitors to the area? Restaurants, tours etc? Thanks

Lots of Sedona talk on this forum. I think that the Summit has one of the best views (depending on whether or not you want to consider the Hyatt Pinon Pointe). There seems to be always some construction going on-was earlier this year. Also, they have 1 br DELUX units. These are pretty nice but are usaully closest to the construction. I'm hoping to get back up there next month too!

You'll have a great time in your 1BR unit at Sedona Summit. The resort has no reason to 'upgrade' you. First come -first served is BS. If you offer to pay, you might have some luck at some resorts, don't know about Summit, but I've never heard of Sunterra doing this for anyone but their 'Elite' owners.

That's sort of what I was thinking since Sunterra offers upgrades for a fee to their elite members. I know that we're at the first elite level and can upgrade two times per year for a $99 fee and space availability. I haven't decided if I'm going to attempt to take advantage of this or just book the size unit I want. If I don't have the points available for the unit I'd rather have I know I'll give it a shot.

We're new enough in the Sunterra system that I'm still learning the ropes.
