Here's a Timeshare Vendor story...

First I am an extreme skeptic so, suffice to say I did not purchase this service but let this be a warning and discussion point for others.

I received a call from ETM, stating they want to rent/sell my unlimited bonus weeks from II. I start asking questions such as: "What unlimited bonus weeks?" "What is the fee?" "What is your written guarantee".

I am currently renting out excess weeks that I own in TS, but have read this board and know the pitfalls, but as a marketer and salesperson myself, I also listen to pitches to poke holes.

From this young girl that told me about my free unlimited bonus weeks, I was transferred to another gentleman that can answer my questions more in depth.

He mentions the 'Getaway' weeks from II and of course the 'unlimited' nature of my weeks that I own with my TS. He then spouts off about how a convention center management company in Orlando has made a deal that brings conventions to Orlando for the next 30 years, guaranteeing demand for hotels and TSs.

ETM is not a TS listing company, he goes on to say, but a sales and marketing company that markets my weeks to businesses that can save money over hotel room rates by renting excess TS weeks. Paying on average $2800 per week in the Orlando area with the majority of that going to me, the renter. All this can be done in as little as 3 weeks from signing the contract.

Is there a written guarantee on the rental contract? I ask. Silence greets me and a switch of topics. (This was asked at least twice with no real answer)

Of course they do not simply list a week on a site but actively sell the week to their client list. Novel approach I give them that. Of course the clincher was that it all can be done for the LOW...

Low...

low...

Price of only $1499 for a one-time rental or $1899 for a lifetime contract to rent out my weeks.

At which time I burst out laughing and said thanks for your time. :hysterical:

If you have any knowledge of this company or other information it would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you didn't fall for it - anytime someone wants a high upfront fee to rent or sell your timeshare, it is a huge red flag.

They take your money, and ride off into the sunset.

And of course, it is a violation of the II terms and conditions for members to rent any of their products...

There may be one somewhere but I have yet to come across a legit timeshare company that has the word management in its name.

If someone calls saying their name is "blah blah blah management" run for the hills.
