I own three weeks at any location in the Grand Luxxe Residence Club. They have resorts in Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Nuevo Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Puerto Penasco, Acapulco and Mazatlan.

My contract does not allow me to reserve Christmas or spring break. The company that used to try and rent my time (CVM) has gone out of business. Can someone please give me some advice and/or make a recommendation on finding an honest, effective rental company?

I don't have any recommendations, but I can tell you what to look for:

Anyone company that charges their rental fees upfront (more than a $50 listing fee) is not interested in actually RENTING your timeshares. The upfront fee companies promise you unrealistically high rental fees, collect a high upfront fee from you, post your Ads on their overpriced website - and forget about you. Look at it this way - they already HAVE your money - why bother?

To be quite honest with you, there is more supply than demand in Mexico, and this depresses rental rates. It will be more cost effective for you to reserve prime weeks, and rent it yourself.

I like the TUG Marketplace, and www.redweek.com, for do-it-yourself rentals.
