Has anyone had any experience with the Timeshare Group, Inc. (OnTheSpot Timeshare Disposal)? I went on the BBB website and there were 60 comments, not one of them negative. That seems hard to believe. Appreciate hearing about any experience anyone has had with this organization.

Did you call them, or did they cold call you? Do they want ANY upfront money? Honest brokers have no need to cold call. Honest brokers take their commission from sales proceeds at closing.

There is really no telling who posted those "comments" (some self-promotion, perhaps?) but the bottom line is that these folks, like oh so many others just like them, will require significant upfront cash from you (likely somewhere between $1,800 -- $3,600). You'll sign a "Power of Attorney" to authorize them to "dispose" of your timeshare on your behalf. Maybe they will do so, maybe even lawfully. Maybe they won't ever actually do so at all, lawfully or otherwise. In either case your upfront cash is certainly gone and in the final analysis your ownership obligations will only maybe be gone. I'm guessing that you may not much like all those "maybes" very much.

As Denise has already suggested, you should certainly first make every effort to just give it away for free if you want out of the ownership all that badly --- and keep your cash in your own pocket while attempting to do so.

They are offering to transfer ownership out of my name for less than $1,000. There don't appear to be any up front fees.

How does that differ from my trying to sell my timeshare on TUG for $1.00? Is that a better option?

It's your call, but just do the math on the "out of pocket" cost difference between zero and $1,000 (...or whatever their actual figure is).
Also, please remember all the "maybes" previously and very specifically mentioned. It's your decision to make. In any event, I wish you luck.
