MMC/MSE Platinum has been lauded as a very good buy (and some say the best) in terms of capital cost/MF/trading power. Would there be an equivalent resort in the Gold Season? Or since it is Gold, would one be better off buying something like WM and try to trade into a Marriott during Gold Season in, for example, Hilton Head?

Thanks in advance.

My Gold Shadow Ridge has never dissappointed me. But the maintainence fees are higher than MMC. In the recent past MMC was just as cheap to buy a platinum as my gold cost. So even though you travel in gold I would still consider a platinum MMC, unless you want the lock-off feature. If a lock-off is important a Canyon Villas gold might work for you,the fees and taxes are less than any of the palm desert Marriotts. Good Luck

The lockoffs are getting harder and harder to find though, as I am finding out.

Thanks everyone. As Michelle said, resale platinum MSE EOYs are kinda scarce these days so I'm thinking of other alternatives.

Ocean Pointe Gold looks like a good buy. The season is in the summer. High owner occupancy ratio. The Gold owners in our newsgroup have told of the good exchanges they've gotten.

Have you looked into a Barony gold season.??? What about an Ocean Watch Silver. ?? The last two weeks of August fall into the silver season. I trade my OBX ll oceanfront into Marriots for August and Sept. My Sunterra points also. Just purchased a Barony gold. People I have met told me it trades great. Timing has to be right for trades. You have to keep looking everyday for trades you want. The ll resorts change several times a day. If you do not book when you see it, most times it is gone when you review again. Again, this is what works for us and the weeks we own.

Ocean Point gold does trade well but resales cost about the same as MSE platinum. Also, MF are considerably higher at OP (than MSE) because it is on the Florida beach.
