We are going to the Aruba Ocean Club next month. Today I received my email requesting villa preferences. We like high floors with an OV. Other than that, is there anything I should specifically request?

We just got back, stayed in the "south" tower (closest to Surf Club). The laundry area and trash disposal are located in the north towers, pretty good hike from the oceanfront rooms. The pool is fairly loud during the afternoon, if your room is facing in that direction, you'll hear bingo, trivia etc.
I had a problem with the atm in Ocean Club, temporarily lost $700 till I got home. Bring an extra source of cash if you'll need it.

All of the non-OF villas are considered OV. We like facing the pool and we like being in the South Tower closest to the end (OF) because it is near the stairs. I like taking the stairs down to the beach each day. It is not that far from the laundry and trash facilities. We are never in the villa during the day so we never hear any noise. I use travelers checks which are easily cashed at the casino.

High floor, interior facing.
There are palm trees that can block your view of the ocean if you are on the lower floors.

As a trader, I would reverse the preference- request interior poolside) facing, high floor. Since preference is given to owners, I'd want to ensure a poolside view regardless of floor, since at the worst you'd have a nice gardenview and not views of the Surf Club or hotel.

The exterior stairs were a nice feature. Are they not available in the north tower?

There is nothing wrong with facing the hotel since they put the beautiful pool area in. Facing the Surf Club is not so nice.

I was thinking about that- but do all the N facing rooms face the pool, or do the ones in the back face the walkway, etc.? I wasn't sure of the relative placements of the buildings.

Per THIS satellite view, it does appear that the rooms in the back would face the walkway to the hotel, but perhaps would still have peek-a-boo views of the pool.

They face the center pool/ocean.

My comment was referring to the rooms on the outside of the side wing, closest to and facing the Stellaris hotel, but farthest from the ocean. That's what the last few posts were referring to. I believe you are talking about something else.

Just finishing our 5th day here. Thanks for all the restaurant suggestions. This place is great. I didn't think we would like it as much as Maui, but we do. The red-eye flight from Las Vegas, through JFK, wasn't as torturous as we thought it would be. Staff is terrific. Love the place.
