I did not realize the difference in membership costs between clubs as well. A AAA Plus membership can be $78 in SoCal, $98 in NorCal, and $119 in Washington, DC! That is a huge disparity in cost for the same level of benefit. Hopefully OP lives in one of the cheaper areas.

I'm happy with my AAA Plus as it gives me more benefits than the RA offered by my auto insurance, which is admittedly cheaper.

You made me go back and look at my rates. :) I just noticed that I'm paying a total of $160 for AAA premier. In that $160 there is an additional fee for each individual driver included. Kind of high for what I'm actually using it for. I may have to talk to my agent about getting it revised.
