After finding TUG I quickly sent my letter to cancel the Westgate timeshare i got suckered into buying while on vacation!
We went to the 'free breakfast' and the "90 minute sales pitch" to get discounts on tickets to SeaWorld, Orlando!
After waiting for over an hour, the sales guy was rude and ended up getting his boss involved she talked so fast it was ridiculous! She kept lowering the payment amount, i told my son lets get the h*ll out of here! He wanted to know exactly how timeshares work, so we listened to them explain it. They make it sound like a good deal considering what we spent to go on vacation!

It was 3-4 hours later before we got through it all and by then i was tired, mentally exhausted and just really wanted to go back to our hotel and relax (i was on vacation after all!!)
So like a fool i signed their paperwork and it took another couple hours to get out of there!!

I regretted doing it by that night, and couldnt sleep so sat up on my laptop looking up how to get out of westgate timeshare and found TUG!!

Thank you so much! I immediately after getting home sent my letter and got the confirmation that they recieved it back yesterday !
The paperwork stating i had 10 days to cancel was hidden in the velcro pocket and if someone on here hadnt described exactly where that pocket was i would NEVER have found it!!!

Anyways, just waiting for my money to be returned now! I wanted to say thank you so much for saving me alot of money over a decision i made while being hounded and feeling absolutely overwhelmed & exhausted!!!

Sincerely,
Pam

So glad you found us in time to rescind and buy the exact same thing for pennies on the dollar and removed a huge weight off your shoulders! Its what TUG is all about!

Welcome to the family!

I love "success" stories like the OP's --- particularly when it involves escaping the clutches of slimy Westgate.

Re: Brian's "pennies" comment above: Even if available for pennies or even for free, Westgate timeshare ownership should probably be avoided much like one would avoid a nasty communicable disease, IMnsHO. Westgate makes owner-unfriendly policy changes at their whim and fancy and they make it very difficult for "resale" buyers to make reservations and / or easily transfer ownership to some other poor sap a different willing would-be owner. Personally, I would never touch any Westgate ownership --- not for free and not even with significant cash being offered to me to take it. YMMV.

Westgate facilities are decent enough, but anything and everything else about the company and its' practices is absolutely the pits, at least in my personal opinion.
