I've read through RCI and TUG here but haven't found the answer :wall: so am posting to get your expert advice. I know I need to combine TPUs but am not sure of the best way to do it. Combine the 2 oldest or combine all 3?

I have 3 deposits / deposit credits with the following TPUs and travel windows:

14 TPU Jul 2013 - Jul 2015
26 TPU Jul 2012 - Jul 2015
29 TPU Aug 2014 - Aug 2017

I don't want to loose that long travel window into 2017. If I combine all 3 now (Oct 2014), what would the travel window be?

Thanks so much for your advice.

Heidi

Are you planning on using the combined deposit soon? Since the 2 oldest are good until July 2015, I would wait until I was ready to use it, then combine just the 2 oldest... unless you need more than 40 TPUs for the reservation.

The combined deposit is good for 2 years.

So, yes, from your situation, and as mentioned in the previous post, combine your two oldest deposits. That will give you a combined deposit with an expiry date of October 2016. Then in October 2016, you could combine again, and have a combined deposit to 2018. A combined deposit has an expiry date of two years, period, regardless of the expiry date of the original deposits being combined.

So strictly on a timing basis, that's the best way to do it. And you always have the option of combining before that if you need a larger deposit for something down the road.

That's what I was afraid of :(

I was hoping we could do one combination that didn't reduce our travel window of our third deposit. Darn!

Not sure yet but thinking we'll probably need 20-25 TPUs for Fall 2015. Or we may want to splurge and try to get DVC which I think would need at least 43 for a 1BR.
