Do you think II Platinum membership is worth the cost?

I received a 50% off offer from II for a Platinum membership. I don't use many guest certs and wonder how others use their membership. Do you think it's useful?

It is worth it if you do enough Getaways and/or use enough guest certificates each year.

For us it's not worth it at any price. Unless you're taking advantage of the discount for Getaways to the point that benefit pays for your membership, it's not worth the extra cost IMHO.

For us, it isnt' justifiable unless you can do so on cost. Two getaways or two guest certificates will cover the membership at the promo level. I would suggest if you do sign up to get the two years at 50% off and not just the one year. One year is over real quick when they don't allow free guest certs or getaway discounts on stays where the checkin is after expiration.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
A combination of 3 getaways and guest certs in 2 years covers the promo platinum cost. If you know you won't at least one of either each year there is no reason to get platinum.

Thanks everyone. Having more weeks than vacation time leaves very little room for getaways. I guess I'll have to let this one pass.

In May, I negotiated a specific accommodation certificate to use for my nephew. To get the AC I agreed to buy a 3 year Platinum membership. This allowed me to book an extra exchange that was not being allowed with an XYZ or AC. My nephew paid for the membership and the AC fee and it was still much cheaper than using my deposit.

It all boils down to the cost of GC's combined with the getaway savings. If you need 3 in a given year it covers more than the cost of a regular annual upgrade. There are other benefits, but they aren't worth much, if anything. Short stays, which are also available to Gold, cannot be retraded or cancelled, so they have very limited value.
