I upgraded my RCI account to Platinum for the free OGS. When I enter a new OGS, the system still wants me to pay the exchange fee upfront. Is there a way around this? I know with my Wyndham RCI account, I just enter in a new OGS and there's no charge, but my regular RCI points account won't let me.

Other than calling on the phone, is there another way to do it?

It's pretty goofy for them to say this is a benefit and not give it to Platinum owners. I personally see no value in Platinum. It's not like II where you get free guest certificates, which are necessary for me with the three kids.

There is no way to set one up for free except on the phone or during limited special promotions. Since I am going to pay the fee anyway I usually pay to set up one and then set up several at the same time for the single credit on the books.

My points membership lets me prorate the platinum membership fee. So if I happen to need a guest cert or getaway toward the end of my membership term. I upgrade for the $15-$20 and then the single rebate for the guest cert pays for the time. So I sometimes end up with platinum. The upgrade never works for me because it is usually just worth the extra 1-2 tpu's to book the larger unit in the kind of places that regularly have availability for the upgrade.

Free OGS is not doable online. However, as a platinum member they set these up for free EVERYTIME I call. I have never done these during special promotion times only. I beleive during this last revamp of Platinum Member Benefits the Free OGS option was removed, but I have set up at least two since then without being charged.
