What's the best RCI renewal rate you've seen?

My RCI Weeks account is due to expire next Summer. I've been thinking of letting it expire because I doubt I'll use RCI for exchanges anymore. But recently I helped a coworker arrange an Extra Vacation, and I'm thinking of renewing my account to continue to have access to that.

RCI called me last week to offer me a "great deal" of three years for the price of two, which I didn't think was such a great deal at all. I see that offered regularly from their website. I told the caller I wasn't interested, but to let me know when things get lower than that.

Since I have several months till my account expires, I'm wondering whether I have any options on negotiating a renewal cost the next time they call, and if so, what I can ask for. What is the lowest renewal rate for an RCI Weeks membership that you've seen?

I don't believe I've heard of a better offer than the 3 years for the price of 2.
But perhaps I missed it. Sounds like it's worth it to keep the membership because of the Extra Vacations, if you'll use it. Or who knows how or if RCI might change in the future. :D

Sort of going through the same dilemma myself, except I'm in Points with the Weeks membership thrown in. Problem is that Points don't have the 3fer2 deals. It's just a straight-up set price. Want 2 years, fine. That'll be double, thanks. Three, triple it. I know I'll re-up, but that doesn't make it any less painful.

They had an offer of 5 years for the price of 3 a couple years back (not for the price of a three-year membership, but for the price of 3 x the 1 year membership fee). I paid $267 for a five-year membership.

Best-ever RCI membership deal I got was about 12 years ago when I purchased South Africa units. Each 'deal' at the time came with x number of free RCI membership years, and they really added up. In fact, I haven't paid an RCI membership fee ever and my membership doesn't expire until 2024. You keep the membership even if you happen to sell/give away/deed back the units. :D

But I doubt they still offer those deals and I suspect you wouldn't be interested. :p

I'm in the same boat. I've been watching but seeing nothing different. I think
I expire before you do though Dave.

Thanks, everyone. I'll keep looking. I vaguely remember someone saying one time they had let their membership expire, and RCI gave them a super-low renewal rate. As I remember it, it was something like half price.

And no, Jeff, I hope you don't expire - ever. As Hannibal Lecter said to Clarice Starling: "The world is more interesting with you in it." ;)

I believe that we got that in the mail but I never posted about it, I am sure.

I have a feeling that they sold our name because we are getting calls from timeshare scammers non-stop lately but cannot prove it, of course. No harm done because we just hang up the phone.

My RCI membership expired September 30, 2014. I also bought South Africa weeks and got a 10 year RCI membership extension included in the package when I bought in 2002. Once my membership expired, I was expecting to hear from RCI about renewing but haven't heard anything yet. I don't own the South Africa weeks anymore but still will probably keep RCI for their extra vacations and last minute vacations. We have 3 weeks scheduled for Hilton Head this year from Nov 29th through Dec 20th using RCI Extra Vacations. My question is "Will I have any problem checking into these resorts if I don't renew my RCI membership before then? If I would get a 5 year membership for the price of 3 year offer I would renew.

RCI website on the Weeks side is offering a 5-year renewal for $299. That's $60 a year, and a savings of $149. Is that a deal?

That doesn't sound too bad. I may look into that when I get back.

Sigh. I'm not seeing that offer. The offers shown to me after logging in list $349 for the 5-yr renewal or $265 for the 4-yr renewal (a slightly better deal over the 5-yr).
