I searched but could not find the exact answer to my problem. I have a deposit I combined two years ago expiring in two weeks. I have nothing to combine it wih and no RCI timeshares left to deposit (I have Wyndham, but that deposits in RCI differently). What are my options? Book something with part of the TPUs then cancel leaving me with a deposit credit? Can I then combine and extend what's left of the original and the deposit credit? Or can I just pay to extend it? If so, for how long and for how much? The RCI website was most unhelpful in this regard, as usual. :wall: help!

The fees to extend are:

1 month $29
3 months $69
6 months $109

I don't know how booking and cancelling works. Maybe worth a try. It may be combined back with the other TPUs.

You want to be careful about booking and cancelling because the tpu's might just recombine. I know that happens if you cancel with 24 hrs. It might happen beyond as well and then you would be out the exchange fee and you still would be in the same spot you are in now.

You can also give them to another RCI member. A very nice person gave me some expiring TPUs last year. I think it costs $109.

I was about to combine some of mine anyway, so after the gift TPUs appeared in my account, I combined everything and that gave the combined deposit a new expiration date.

I am going to face the same problem in a couple years. I am combining now, and combining in December again. but eventually I will have nothing left to combine. I am timeshare free right now

I've given away both my RCI timeshares and have about 200 TPUs that I hopefully can use. I have a total of six deposits so I should be able to stretch it out to about 2019, I think.

But eventually we'll lose them as well, or give them away.
