Ko Olina reservation staff had communicated to me they cannot combine a OV (ocean view) studio w/ a GV (garden view) 1BD strictly b/c they are different room types (views) - this makes sense. I got both units through II.

I expressed a few times (by phone then in person) over the past couple of weeks my willingness to downgrade the 1BD studio from OV to GV in order to have both units classified as GV so that I can combine the studio w/ the 1BD to form a 2BD. Each time, the reps seem to find one reason or another not to make this happen. I just checked into our GV 1BD (it is Sunday, I think it is the last check in day of the week). It seems there is a free/open GV studio next to our 1 BD. I am wondering why the staff can't just arrange this to happen. Are they just purposely being difficult???

What are the exact policies of the Ko Olina reservation staff downgrading my OV Studio to a GV so that I can then combine w/ our GV 1 Bedroom into one GV 2 BD, esp when I have the feeling there are available units to do this switch?

Winger, Sorry about your frustration with the room types. I guess it is hard for Marriott with all their corporate policies to think outside the box. Sent you a pm. we checked into a 2 bedroom ocanview unit and am pleased with the unit and view. The resort has come a long way since the last time we were here.
