We just purchased an EOY (even) 168K at Smokey Mountain from ebay. I'm assuming things won't get fully transfered for at least 3-4 months. If Jan. 2008 is our first use year, what are the chances of us making a reservation at a nice resort in i.e. San Diego, California (or Anaheim) for June 2008? We were hoping to bring the children to Disney Land since I have a conference June 5, 6 and 7th in San Diego and would be able to extend our stay for a week or 2.
Thanks in advance,
Sandra

Ask your seller to make reservation for you ASAP and transfer it to you.

Hi Sandra,
You came to the right place to ask questions. You might get even more help at wyndhamowners.com.
I was just checking the website for availability for June 2008 myself for California. That is high season and the availability at some resorts is already gone (reservations begin at 10 months for those who own at a sister resort). There is nothing at all available in Anaheim (not much if anything between now and August so it doesn't seem like they have much supply), there is also nothing available after June 5 at Oceanside Pier Resort. Harbourtown in Ventura has some availability left for most of June and Harbour Lights in San Diego has lots of availability for June. A studio beginning June 7 for 7 nights there would cost 189K points. This last one may be your best bet though you would be a little short on points. Oh, there are a few inland resorts with availability eg. Worldmark Indio. You can also book at the Wyndham hotel at Orange County but this takes a lot of points for what you get in my opinion.

If you want to make use of your points for June, you need to get the seller or closing company involved and ask them to make a reservation for you. This is your best bet for getting a reservation. I wouldn't wait until after closing.

Hope this helps,
Angela

Thanks so much for the inflo and advice. I've email the seller and he is willing to make the reservation for us. The problem is that I have no idea how to check for availability at different fairfield resorts. Our dates are fairly flexible now that I'm no longer going to the conference I had in June. Does anyone know a back way into the Fairfield website?

There is no backway. If you know your vacation schedule, and willing to provide several places, it will be good, just let the seller know. The sooner you can make decision, the larger the range and places the better

Sandra,

Post what else you're looking for here, and I (or someone else) can check into the availibility for you.
