I know that this has probably been asked before, forgive me if it has. I am in the process of purchasing/closing (resale, 2br. L/O) at Sheraton Vistana - waiting on deed transfer - and wanted to go to Sheraton Broadway Plantation this year if at all possible. What would be the best way to do that? I have not joined any exchange companies as of yet and not really sure between RCI and II. I'm sure that I will need deed in hand before making any arrangements. At this point I just want to get information and some form of direction on how I should start. Another thing - Does owning within the Sheraton network help with this? Thanks in advance for any advice.

At the top of the Starwood Forum there is a sticky about exchanging a Starwood resort - start there.

You have priority for Starwood to Starwood exchanges with II, but not with RCI.

I'm moving your post to the Starwood forum (Sheraton = Starwood.)

Ask the seller to reserve the week for you. It will pass to you in the sale. You'll need to add wording in the sales contract that the 2015 usage will go to you. I purchased 2 Harborside units and had the sellers week for me as part of the agreement.

When you join II or RCI, you have to pay the yearly membership fee, whether you plan to exchange that year or not, so don't join, until you are ready to deposit.
