Can any Week based TS be converted to RCI Points?
I'm looking into TS and wanted to go with RCI points, My ? is can any non points property be deposited into RCI for points?
I'm looking thru Ebay, and I see allot of Points converted places for $1 plus CC and MF but just wondering the above ? as I found a few property's that are not points based and have low MF and no CC. So I thought I could just deposit one I become a member of RCI. -Sal |

No that won't work. You must have an ownership that's already in RCI Points in order to become a member. Once you have the membership you can deposit some non-point ownerships into RCI points.

Oh yes you can do that as long as the resort is an RCI points resort. It may cost you a couple thousand dollars or so to convert. It's usually cheaper to buy one already converted.

If you buy an unconverted week at an RCI points resort, you can generally convert it through the developer/management group for $495-$3995. The lower price is generally from sold out resorts and the higher price from resorts still in active sales from the original developer, but it can be anywhere in between too. The price is set by the resort. I think RCI gets about $199 of the fees, whichever marketing group/developer who gets you to sign gets 50% of the total fee and whatever is left goes to the HOA. Generally if you want a week to be in points you should buy one already converted. Converting through the developer is like buying from the developer and is (almost) never a good deal.
If you already own a points week and own another week that is not in the RCI points directory than you can do a PFD (points for deposit) for a $39 fee. Some resorts and some specific weeks are more valuable in RCI points but sometimes weeks are better as pure weeks. |

I dont own as of yet but looking into points. So to sum it up I need to be a points owner first then if I wanted I could by another TS that is not points and deposit that for Points.
Thanks so much... |

If you want RCI Points, buy one already converted.

If you are a points owner and also own at a resort that has never been converted to an RCI points resort through the developer you can deposit for points. If the developer is converting or has ever converted units into Points you lose your ability to ever deposit it without going through the developer and paying the fee. RCI can also discontinue the PFD program. So if you want points buy a unit already converted.

They told me that if you purchase a non-points unit from a resort that is already a POINTS resort, you cannot use the unit for PFD. They told me the only exception would be that you already purchased your unit before the resort converted to POINTS, then you would be grandfathered. CZ. |

Again
If you want to buy a week and use it for RCI points. -If you do not own anything now- Buy a week at a RCI points resort which is already converted to points. (or if you're sure it will be very cheap to convert the week <$200) - If you already own a week and are a point member, you can buy a week at a non RCI point resort and use it to PFD (points for deposit) for a $39 fee. BUT you can not buy a week at a RCI pts resort and deposit a non converted week into points.

I thought the points-for-deposit fee was $26 per week, not $39. I just deposited two PDF weeks a few days ago and was charged $26 each. Or did the price go up on January 1?
![]() Otherwise, I second (or third) everything said on this thread: Only weeks at resorts that participate in RCI Points can be used to set up an RCI Points account. It is usually much cheaper to buy a week that has already been converted to RCI Points than to buy a non-converted week and pay extra to convert. RCI Points does have a program called points-for-deposit that allows depositing weeks from non-Points resorts, but first you must already own one or more weeks that have been converted to RCI Points. |

Bumping this one instead of starting a new thread.
If you have a lockoff at an RCI Weeks only resort, can you split it and make 2 points for deposits? |
