Holmes used customers' desperation to sell their timeshares as a way to connect sellers with potential buyers, at a time when the market for timeshares was down, a criminal investigation found. His company sold no timeshares in the span of a year yet 1,100 customers paid an average $998 for marketing services that were never provided, the statement said.

That's a lot of money to be made in one year. I wonder if he doesn't care that he has 2 years of prison. It may be worth it to him.
