I'm about to rent a Marriott unit and have read the related threads on the "how to" when renting. Unless I missed it, how do you verify that the renter is 25 (or 21) years of age or older? Do you request a copy of the license along with the rental agreement and initial deposit?

It is my first time ... so be nice ....

Do you mind sharing with me where to read "how to". I would like to know how to rent and also renting out a unit.

Thanks

Personally, I would not ask for their drivers license or anything like that. I'd just put it in the rental agreement. Something like "renter asserts he or she is over the age of __ ." I might also simply ask during email conversations.
As a renter I wouldn't want to give anyone a copy of my ID online.

Do an online search, White pages, Google, etc and you can usually learn age range, if not exact age of person

I always include a "provide copy of drivers license" phrase in all my rental agreements but the fact is I have never had to request it. i'm am usually able to get a good read on the prospective renter after a few emails and phone calls.

I always require "all adults to be over 25". I almost missed a good renter once though. When I asked the question, she said 2 of us are 19 and 21. There were 10 people renting. I told her no way. Then she went on to say that the ages were 19 to 75 and they were renting it for a wedding. They were a great multi-generational group.
