We have a week there in December. We don't get the AI and have noticed when we go to restaurants associated with the AI there a many entrees and alcoholic drinks that have an up charge. I wouldn't want that if I was already paying a hefty price for the AI.

We were wondering about restaurants such as El Conquistador and Captain's Cove - is there a limit on how often AI'ers can use them? And is the menu limited? Just curious :)

There isn't any limit as they are part of the AI, but you will pay more for many of the better items on the menus.

NONE! Looking for a good trader to purchase.
If we exchange our Marriott timeshare for the Royal Sands (and are not Royal owners elsehwere) are we REQUIRED to purchase the meal plan? If I'm reading the site correctly it is $99 per person, per day.... which is basically a deal breaker. $1400 for the week for 2 people, $2800 for a group of 4.... um no.

YES, if you make II exchange and are NOT a Royal owner, you must purchase AI. It would be better to rent from an owner. YOu might want to rent your Marriott week rather than deposit with II and then use $$$ to rent royl

The Royal Caribbean and The Royal Islander do not have AI, so you could exchange for them instead of The Royal Sands, without that high cost.

If you decide to do that, request either one - they are connected, and you can use all the facilities - it doesn't matter where you actually sleep.

If you want to also spend time at The Royal Sands, you can use a free shuttle between the resorts and use the facilities at all of them with no extra charges.

That's actually a bargain compared to Generations by Karisma. I looked at exchanging my Marriott yesterday for spring break 2015. The AI is mandatory and it's $238 per person/per night. Even for my 15 year, who is considered an adult. There's no way we could eat or drink that much. Crazy!!

If you rent from an owner you do not have to do the AI.
