Hello,
We are considering staying in the Disney area in November and are hoping for an OGS match. If we are unsuccessful and need to stay offsite, which resorts offer transportation to the Disney parks? I am aware of Bonnet Creek offering the $6/pp shuttle and the Sheraton Vistana (free?) as well, but wanted to know of any others. Any additional information about offsite transportation suggestions are welcome. We are looking to stay for 2 weeks and will take 2 or 3 days at Universal as well, do any of the resorts offer transportation there as well? Thanks!

Summer Bay has transportation to Disney, Universal and I think Sea World. Not sure of cost.

As far as I know, all of the resorts listed above do charge a "per person" fee for the shuttles to the parks. Sheraton Vistana used to offer the shuttle use for free to renters but exchangers paid the fee. Don't know if that's still the case or not.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek's fee is about the same as other offsites but their shuttle schedule is much more frequent than most offsites, about every 30 minutes in the mornings and evenings, every 1-2 hours in the afternoons - and last pick-up times at the parks in the evenings are after nighttime fireworks. Also, their shuttle buses do not stop at any other timeshare resorts, traveling directly to/from the parks (or TTC).

Most offsite resort shuttles are only offered with 1-4 pick-up times in the mornings and evenings. Many use area shuttle services with multiple resorts and hotels on a shared route, so the ride is long and slower. Sometimes, the last return time at the end of the evening departs from the park before the nighttime fireworks. This kind of shuttle service is very limiting and forces you to lose valuable park time. Returning to your resort midday is not an option either.

Before you confirm an exchange offsite, when you know you will be dependent on a shuttle service, call the resort directly. Ask the cost, pick-up/return times, how many hotel/resort stops before going to the parks, and the time of the last pick-up of the evening. Some people just pay for taxicab service instead, especially if staying very nearby in Lake Buena Vista or the closest part of Kissimmee. For a family or small group sharing the cab fare, this can cost only a little more than using the scheduled shuttles.

Certainly, the most convenient place to timeshare when you'll need shuttles is at a DVC resort. But these are options when DVC is not. :) Hope that helps!

The Disney and Universal shuttles are complimentary at Summer Bay.

Thank you for the information, Lisa. I am hoping to be able to avoid all of that by getting a DVC exchange for my timeframe, but all of this is very helpful to know if we do have to stay at a non-DVC.

I haven't stayed off-site since 2003, so everyone's suggestions have been appreciated. :D

Vacation Village at Parkway is right across the street from Epcot and they offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from Disney several times a day as well as a drop off and pick up for Universal Studios and possibly Seaworld. Was there in January 2014 and really enjoyed my stay.
