Thank you for sharing. This is my next project. I think I will try out Lastpass.

Anyone have any experience with any of these programs?

We just recently switched to LastPass and it works great. They do have a free version available and it was rated very highly in the OP's source also.

Make sure you protect your LastPass account with Duo Security for multi factor authentication, as well.

If you pay the $2 mo or whatever it is, you get LastPass across all your devices, including Mac or Windows or Linux, Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Explorer, iPad, iPhone, and Android. IMO it is worth it. YMMV, of course, but $2 is a pittance for the security and convenience it provides.

It's actually free for all computers, but just $12 per year for the premium version which includes mobile devices. Kinda a no brainer to me.

Being technically challenged, I am a bit confused about what I have been finding online. We have an iMac and a MacPro (we use Safari and Chrome on both of these), an iPad, and a Windows-based desktop. If I understand correctly, we need to get the Premium version of Lastpass so it will work across all of these platforms (I think the iPad necessitates this). Is that right? If so, I think it means we also have to get a Yubikey or some other USB key. I tried reading about them, but honestly don't understand what these keys do, how they make things more secure, and how you use them.

We desperately need to move to some password software, as we currently keep ours on a password-protected spreadsheet! I know, that's a terrible solution. But I have a general distrust of any personal stuff being stored by someone else. However, I am finally ready to make the move, but need something easy to use and understand. Seems like Lastpass is a great solution, but I would like to understand it a bit better before getting it.

Thanks in advance for your help with this!
