I've got five contracts currently closing - and this is likely right at what we'll be able to use in a year - however, I've got a number (read, over a dozen) of friends and family who've expressed interest in renting through us with any unused points. One side of me says get some extra points and book out holidays and see if I can rent them. The other side of me says don't get stuck with more than you'll use, because you don't want to hurt your budget - especially since you won't be able to get any type of VIP treatment with resale points.

I've spent a total of $800 (cost, closing, and resort transfer fees) and acquired a total of 463k points (4.87/k average MF). I felt like overall this was a pretty good deal. I have the opportunity to acquire several additional contracts.

If I acquire too many, is it going to be difficult to at least break even if I want to sell several of these contracts? If no friends or family end up wanting to rent out (and again, I'm just looking to break even) - is there a likelihood that I'll be able to do something with these to help offset the MFs (I'm an eBay veteran)? If all else fairs - does Ovation take resales back?

I appreciate your input!

Most rentees (of Wyndham) "want/expect/have calculated" a Platinum VIP discount into their rental offers along with a free GC and minus 25% discount ... because they are "helping" you out.

Buying WHAT you are going to USE personally ... is the best plan.

I have given back several resale points contracts via Ovation.

I think you have done extraordinarily well to date. I do not recommend buying additional weeks/points in anticipation of demand from friends and family.
