Is there much difference between the two properties? I've read the reviews, and notice that Sunset Pointe has a lower score, but when I look at the Marriott web site, all of the information and photos are identical. The only difference appears to be that Harbor Point has some smaller units. Is one newer than the other? Have both been recently refurbished?

Marriott bought Harbour Point, but later built two buildings that are named Sunset Pointe. They share the same property. Harbour Point has four different floor plans called A, B, C, and D ranging from largest to smallest, respectively. We have stayed in both and found the kitchen in Sunset Pointe to be a little small with limited storage. We just recently stayed in a B unit at Harbour Point and were very pleased with it. The furnishing were like brand new although it may have been refurbished in 2013.

I personally feel the views at HP are better. I love watching the birds, sometimes dolphins, and the boaters on Broad Creek. Most or all of the A, B, and C units have a direct view of the creek. The D units are an angled view to the creek. The "Sunset" (Bldg 5) of SP has great sunset view while "Marsh" (bldg. 3) overlooks a small lagoon with water jet and towards the main pool.

You can't go wrong with either resort.

Hi,
We spent 6 weeks at sunset point last winter. The kitchens are indeed small but the views were lovely. We were in the sunset building.
We have stayed two individual nights at harbour point and the rooms were a bit bigger. The staff is terrific there and we were surprised at how much we liked being in the non ocean location. Great place.
We will be at harbour point for Christmas and New Years weeks this year and then for 3 weeks in March.
