Planning to visit Orlando after 12 years since I purchased a TS there from the Developer. This time visiting with my two little girls 9 years and 6 years. Mainly planning to do the Disney parks.

I am looking at 2 check-in dates at Vacation Village at Parkway, one August 2nd 2015 and the other August 22nd 2015. I assume the Aug 22nd week is better in terms of crowd/wait times at the parks but would appreciate some input on how much difference this makes compared to the Aug 2nd option. Also in terms of storms/hurricanes, I assume Aug 2nd week is better but would like some input on how much difference this makes.

Also how much of a discount do you get on the discounted tickets that you can purchase from the resort ticket desk?

Thanks a lot for your help.

End of August is much better. Florida kids are back in school so week days will be light at the parks.

Thanks Matt. I am leaning towards end of August as well. Just worried about the higher chance of hurricanes towards the end of August.

I went to Orlando last 2 week in august 2011 and 2012. There were short daily rains and there was hurricane warning/ tropical storm 8/12. There were less people the last week in August than the third week. I went to Orlando first week in august this year. Weather was just as hot as late August. For some reason, the lines at the Parks were surprisingly short in early August this year.

You can't worry about hurricanes. Just buy the trip insurance from II, Marriott, or whoever offers it and cross your fingers.

This year we had ZERO hurricanes that made landfall in the U.S. In 2012 we had a real bad one in October. You just can't predict.

Thanks Matt. I am leaning towards end of August as well. Just worried about the higher chance of hurricanes towards the end of August.

Made up my mind. confirmed the late August week.

Have a question for those who have used the Vacation Village at Parkway shuttle service to Disney. How often do they run and how dependable is the service? Or is it best just to use our car instead? Since the $25 activity fee includes this service, might as well use it if we can rely on it.
