I've been reading tug threads for an hour trying to find an applicable answer, so I'm sorry if this answer has been addressed. Actually, I've found conflicting info.

I have an unexchanged week that will expire Dec 31, 6 weeks from now. It was a deposit from my Westin Mission Hills, CA.

Trying to decide which is best:

a) Pay to extend for 6 or 12 months, then exchange ($99/$189 + $174)
b) Exchange for end of Dec somewhere, adding ePlus to retrade ($174+$49)

I know there's a lot more to this than the cost of II's fees. If I don't know when I will use this week (probably next summer), then would extending for a year @ $189 be the best option? Is there any reason why I should exchange this unredeemed deposit before it expires, with the goal of extending its use until next summer? (which may not even be possible). Exchanging and canceling for a replacement week is another option, but that's probably the most expensive, right?

At this point (less than 59 days from check in) either option is going to limit you to flexchange in the case of the extension, or 59 days from the check in date of your current reservation (up to 3 times) for the eplus.

If you are doing eplus exchange into a starwood and the exchange fee will be less and you can then exchange into other resorts with the eplus.

Thank you tschwa, but if I wanted to use the week next summer, and it expires Dec 31, would ePlus even work?

Let's say I make a reservation w/ my existing unredeemed deposit for Dec 20-27, then the week before, I use #1 of ePlus trades. I can only go 60 days ahead, right? So doing that 3x would only put me to June of 2016 before I'd be out of retrades.

Am I understanding this right? Retrades are limited to 60 days ahead of the current reservation you want to trade?

Yes, you would be out of retrades by June with eplus.

What year is the deposit from? Is it from 2013?
