I'm curious as to whether everything is basically shutdown at Christmas in Branson. Is that a bad time to visit? I notice the point cost is really cheap then.

One year I spent the week after Christmas at Mountain Vista. Got a 2 bedroom for 77k. They had a New Year's Eve party at the resort and there were a number of them going on in town as well.

The town is decorated for Christmas starting in November. After Christmas many shows are closed but there are quite a few that are open. Silver Dollar City closes around New Year's, I can't remember for sure. You'd have to check their website.

Mountain Vista and Meadows both have indoor pools, which is a plus.

I really like Branson in November and December because of the decorations and that it is not crowded. You should be able to check online for shows that would be open.

As you probably noted weeks 51-52 and 1-9 are quiet as they roll up the streets around mid-December.

Most big name shows are dark and weather not great.

However, decorations are up and some things are open.

Better time is two weeks after Thanksgiving when special Christmas shows are going full blast, but not crowded.

You can go to Branson web site and see what is open!

Typically most of the top shows close around Dec. 10th and then some will do a modified schedule the week after christmas. Alot of shopping, decorations, light shows and the remaining shows make for a good time.

We stayed at the Meadows last Nov. There were many Christmas shows. The two bad points are that it was cold and there were many bus loads of seniors from places like Iowa.

What's wrong with seniors from Iowa? ;)
