Best options to get from MSY to hotel near Superdome and Warehouse District

Conference in New Orleans next week. Staying at a hotel about halfway between the Superdome and the French Quarter.

Wondering about the best transportation option to get to the hotel. Considering Uber - quoted rate is $33. Any other ideas from the experienced traveler's out there?

My guess would be hard to beat uber unless you want to take public transportation.

Cabs from MSY to downtown are a flat rate - $36. I've done private cars also (hotel to MSY), and they stick with the flat rates, too.
