I have my family booked into a 3 BR Ocean Front Upper Level at Ocean Boulevard. Initially, since I didn't have enough ARP points, for 4 days. At the 10 month window, I was able to book the remaining 3 days to make it into a whole week.

However, I was worried that 1 week in MB might be too long, and since we're there, why not do HHI too? I tried DVC HHI but was booked so I waitlisted the last 3 days not hoping for much, I had points to spare, and if I can't use it - I'd have to rent it out.

But now my waitlist has come thru! So as it is, we have 4 nights in MB and 3 nights in HHI.

My question is: Before I cancel our last 3 nights for OB, am I biting off more than I can chew? Should we do 1 week in MB and do HHI another year?

There are plenty of things to do in Myrtle Beach to fill several weeks. Same can be said for Hilton Head. You will use up a good part of a day driving to Hilton Head and checking in that could be more of a vacation day.

Personally I would do one week in MB and one week in Hilton Head.

You can easily spend a week in Myrtle Beach and then the second in Hilton Head, each is different but both are great in their own way.

There is so much to do in Myrtle Beach that one week usually isn't enough. I would definitely do Myrtle Beach and by all means do Hilton Head another time when you can spend the whole week there. Hilton Head is beautiful and relaxing. I think you will love both places, but do them one at a time.

A week in both cities is not enough time to enjoy both areas. Enjoy your times in these fine southern cities.

I love Myrtle Beach but I would probably not call it a 'fine southern city.' (Not sure I would even say that of Hilton Head, either.) BUT, I do understand what you are trying to communicate, Pedro.

Our kids are still small, ages 9, 7, 5 and almost 3. So we're going to do family friendly stuff. No bars, and maybe no shows.

For the most part it will be the beach, and the boardwalk. Most of the things I heard from my friends like MagiQuest, Medieval Times exist here in Chicago and are not unique to Myrtle Beach.

HHI is only 4 hours away, I thought? I was thinking check out at 10am (normal), drive down to HHI, stop by maybe Charleston and then check-in HHI in the evening. We would have 2 full days at HHI and 3 nights.

The intention was if we liked it, we'll come back for a week later (hopefully via RCI since I don't have enough DVC points for a whole week! Haha).

I'm not a laid back, enjoy the back type person. I like activities so was worried that I was going to be bored and just sleep on the beach :)

I always tell DH, if I'm just going to sleep, I can do it in Chicago!

Many fun miniature golf courses. May have a great pool area for kids where you are staying. Brookgreen Gardens has a children's area and small zoo with a nice family friendly restaurant. Market Commons has free activities Friday nights in summer and a great park across the street.

Add in ice cream and some shopping at the Disney store and your week will fly by!

Thank you! I'll add to our list. We're still in our hotel at Greenville area right now... am stuck on the phone, booking our Alaskan (DVC) Member cruise for next year :) We plan to leave around noon, to get there just in time for checkin.
