I have been told that if you own a fixed week then they will auto reserve at 18 months out. You will have to confirm them and of course pay that years maintenance fee to do so. If you are VSE, what a great idea to get someone to pay maintenance fees early??? You can also cancel it and book another week, but again will have to pay the fees if not yet paid.
My SVR and WLR weeks are all fixed & event weeks and that is the case for mine.
I do not know how SVR or WLR works, but...
This is not correct for WSJ-VGV - you can confirm those >12 month reservations w/o paying MF. This is normal, and a non-issue.
It has been this way at WSJ-VGV for years (reservations showing up at ~18 months ahead of time) - just that now the on-line booking shows these >12 month reservations as unconfirmed.
As previously discussed, once you confirm and then decide to cancel - you cannot get this week back and it turns to SOs. Therefore, for flexibility - I do not plan to confirm until 10 months ahead of time (confirming the reservation by 10 months out is required for fixed weeks at WSJ-VGV as not to lose reservation)
