Hi everyone, I have a timeshare at the Divi Golf Village and I guess they changed their affiliation. We have a fixed week and get RCI points to exchange every year.

We had a meeting with the sales office and they told us they have changed over to Interval International and their weeks are now flexible. I can stay with RCI but it will be more difficult to exchange into my home resort for a different week.

In order to upgrade, I would need to spend $3K to change over to the new program. It's not mandatory, but I'm wondering if they will force owners to change over after a while anyway.

It seems like a lot of money so I'm turning to the experts for advice. Does anybody have experience with this? Is it worth switching over to the new plan? I've been pretty happy with RCI other than the fees and it seems II would be better other than the initial fee.

Thanks.

Hiya,
I went to a similar presentation here in St Martin.
I sure hope availability doesn't dwindle. I've been looking at booking windows of 11 months out and there still seems to be lots of choices. I didn't switch over either as I'm set in RCI with points so I can go to the various divi's at different times etc,
I suppose if everyone switches out availability may be an issue.... But until then I'm going to stay as is....
I did take the free year trial with Interval so I could see what is what...

Thanks for the reply! We ended up sticking with RCI too. They didn't push us too hard into it, but they said the $3k might go up in the next coming years. I didn't get offered a free year though, haha.

Any recent experience?

Does anyone have recent experience with Divi and RCI? We are looking at a resale, that is currently with RCI, and want to make sure we will be able to exchange internally to other dates and resorts in the Divi system.

On that note, how does one go about staying with RCI but using the base week? E.g. keeping the unit enrolled in RCI but forgoing the points one year to use the base week?

You will be able to exchange for any Divi or really any resort on the RCI network. I've exchanged for a resort in Orlando for example.

When you log in to the RCI website, there's a tab to book your home week. You have to sign in 13 months before your week and I believe you have a month to do it, otherwise it goes back to the pool of available resorts.

Thanks for the update, especially for your experience with availability!
