Three years ago I spent this same week at Timberlodge and there were Marriott salespeople everywhere. Two or three were standing outside in front of the resort flagging down tourists, one was at a display by the Gondola, and there were several set up at booths at Harrah’s and Harvey’s. Today: none!!! I’m sure there are salespeople in the house (they had a seminar on the new points system this morning that we avoided). But the difference is striking.
It’s also interesting that the timeshare resort that was started across the street three or four years ago (they poured the foundation) is still a big empty pit.
This is a beautiful resort. We really enjoy it here. But it cost us $300 for the week, for two bedrooms (through Interval’s Getaway). I’m so glad we didn’t purchase a timeshare here (I was tempted at the time, but someone on TUG told me to forget it – great advice).
